BANGOR and MILBRIDGE Mary E. Lawrence, 103, went to be with her Lord peacefully June 2, 2008, at a local nursing home. She was born Jan. 19, 1905, in Antigonosh, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late John and Katherine Kirk of Nova Scotia. Mary attended public schools and Truro Normal School. She taught school until her marriage to John Lawrence. They moved to Bucksport, where John worked for St. Regis as a forester and Mary devoted her time as a housewife and mother to her daughter, Mary (Lawrence) Martin, who passed away, Sept. 28, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband, John David Lawrence. Other family members include son-in-law, William Martin of Milbridge; a grandson, Kevin Martin of Fort Myers, Fla.; a granddaughter, Debra Muro of Bangor; great-granddaughters, Jennifer Martin of Bangor and Jessie Martin of Massachusetts; a great-grandson, Billy Martin of Bangor; a great-great-granddaughter, Madison Ray Martin; and a great-great-grandson, Mathew Herrick Jr. Mary will be sadly missed by her close friend, Parise Desjardins of Bangor. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland, with the Rev. James Heard officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
