GUILFORD and GARLAND Mary E. Smith, 56, died March 1, 2004, at her home in Guilford. She was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Dover-Foxcroft, daughter of George and Dorothy (Ridley) Crosby. She worked for Dexter Shoe in Dexter and Newport for many years. She is survived by a son, Bruce Smith and fianc‚e, Kacy Corson, of Garland; a daughter, Tressa and her husband, Richard Gudroe, of Dexter; three brothers, Philip Crosby of Arizona, Harold Crosby of Guilford, and Robert and Linda Crosby of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister, Beverly Terrill of Presque Isle; five grandchildren, Justin Gudroe, Jordan Corson, Trevor Smith, Kyle Collins and Abigail Smith; a special friend, Michelle Kirk; nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Marion Lovell of Guilford. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Smith; and a sister, Linda McInnis. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Lois Field officiating. Spring burial will be in the West Garland Cemetery.
