LINCOLN – Mary Elizabeth Hanscom, 73, beloved wife of the late Trafton Hanscom, died Dec. 28, 2004, at the Penobscot Valley Hospital after a long illness. She was born Jan. 22, 1931 in Houlton, the daughter of William and Erma Farrar Pomroy. She was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton in 1951, and started her employment at the Workman Hospital in Lincoln where she cared for many people as a certified nurses aide for many years. Mary continued on to work for Lincoln Pulp and Paper, Bangor Hydro Company, and Thornton Brothers. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her brother, Harold Crosby of Texas; two sons, Wayne Hanscom and his wife, Valerie, and their children, Leslie, Jacob, and Eben, Delmont Hanscom and his wife, Becky, and their children, Dustin, Dylan, Brianna, and Brooke. In respect of Mary’s wishes, a private graveside memorial will be held.
