ORRINGTON – Mary Ellen Marion (Pierce) Treworgy, 86, died March 5, 2004, at her residence in Orrington. She was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Portland, the daughter of Everett H. and Avis (Gilker) Pierce. She was known as Ellen, Mary Ellen, Mom or Nana to the people who loved her. Mary Ellen was married to Lawrence I. Treworgy for 64 years, who predeceased her in 1997. She was a beloved mother to her four children, Louis Treworgy of Orrington, Larry Treworgy and wife, Nina, of Hooksett, N.H., Loretta Foss and husband, Ralph, of Bangor, Lauren Treworgy of Orrington, who took special care of her. She was always known as Nana by her four grandchildren, Michele Robinson and husband, Karl, of Nashua, N.H., Kevin Foss of Bangor, Angela Miller and husband, Peter, of Unity, Jason Foss of Durham, N.H.; she was known as great-Nana by six great-grandchildren, especially Chad and Erik Robinson. She is also survived by three sisters, Edith Currull of Duxbury, Mass., Wynona French of W. Plainsfield, N.J., Geraldine Maskiewicz of Lynn, Mass.; and a special friend and cousin, Bernadine O’Rourke of Foxboro, Mass. Graveside services will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, Orrington, later this spring at a time to be announced.
