CALAIS – Mary H. Schneidmiller, 81, of Calais and formerly of Lincoln, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 25, 2007, at a Calais health care facility. Born Feb. 7, 1926, in Bangor, she was the daughter of Augustas and Minnie (Burrough) Taylor. Mary was a psychiatric nurse and in the mid-1960s pioneered the home mental health industry, opening a residential home facility in Pittsfield. She loved to travel, knit, crochet and cook. She enjoyed helping others, and caring for her plants and flowers. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William “Bill” Schneidmiller, March 21, 1991; a sister, Algina Burrough; two brothers, Carl and Manley Taylor; and a sister-in-law, Harriet Taylor. She is survived by five children, William Schneidmiller Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Westminster, Colo., Linwood E. Tracy Jr., the Rev. Dr. Galen L. Tracy Sr. and his wife, Ruby, of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Gerald A. Tracy and his wife, Sharon, of Old Town and Geraldine A. Munn and her husband, the Rev. Aussie of Eastport; one sister-in-law, Doris Taylor of Lincoln, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. David Poirier officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the spring at Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln. Arrangements were entrusted to Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
