BAR HARBOR – Mary Helen Scheitlin, 87, died Nov. 18, 2004, in Bar Harbor. She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Lilly, Pa., the daughter of John M. and Pauline (Wycis) Phillips. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor. Mary Helen is survived by one brother, Thomas Phillips and wife, Marion, of Cresson, Pa.; three sisters, Pauline Brady of Lilly, Pa., Irene Vater of Orlando, Fla. and Florence George of Lakemont, Pa.; two sister-in-laws, Agnes Phillips and Annarae Phillips, both of Lilly, Pa., and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friends, Joan and Cecil Havey. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Erwin H. Scheitlin in 1995; and by three brothers, Henry R. Phillips, John F. Phillips and Arthur Phillips. Friends are invited to call 3-5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor with Father John O’Hara presiding. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
