JONESBORO – Mary L. Scott, 78, died suddenly Saturday, May 28, 2005, at her home in Jonesboro. She was born March 27, 1927, in Centerville, the daughter of William H. and Alta V. (Caler) Cox. Mary enjoyed planting flowers and feeding birds. She loved following the Red Sox, and will be remembered by many for her love of entertaining friends and family members at her camp at Roque’s Bluff. Mary is survived by her husband of 40 years, Sheldon M. Scott of Jonesboro; two children, Alta “Chippy” Smith and her companion, Toby Bryant of East Machias and Sheldon R. “Bustie” Scott of Limerick; a brother, John Cox and his wife, Connie, of Jonesboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Corey V. Scott; three brothers, Darrell Cox, Raymond Cox and William “Junior” Cox; and two sisters, Edwina Norton and Mildred Dorr. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Jonesboro, with the Rev. Ralph Ackley officiating. Arrangements are by Bradgon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
