BAILEYVILLE – Mary M. Irving, 89, died March 25, 2004, at a Calais healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 27, 1915, in Baileyville, the daughter of John and Mary (Pach) Slefinger. Mary was a communicant of St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Irving, April 11, 1996; three brothers, Bernard, John and Mike Slefinger; and one sister, Rose Gately. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Irving, David Irving and his wife, Kathleen, all of Baileyville; one brother, George Slefinger of Augusta; one sister, Helen Thomas of Portland; two grandchildren, David A. Irving and his wife, Sarah, of Brewer, and Heather James and her husband, Gregory, of Grand Lake Stream; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, and Courtney James of Grand Lake Stream, and Samuel Irving of Brewer. A Rosary will be said 11 a.m. Saturday; at St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church in Baileyville. Friends may call at the Church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Frank Morin Celebrant. Spring Burial in the Woodland Cemetery will be announced by the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home of Calais. Donations in her memory may be made to St. James the Greater Improvement Fund.
