HERMON – Mary Arlene (O’Donnell) Bishop, 64, died May 7, 2006, surrounded by those she loved at a local hospital. Mary was born Oct. 10, 1941, to Michael and Edna (Hall) O’Donnell. She resided in Hampden and attended Bangor schools. Mary was employed throughout the years by Freese’s Department Store, Bear’s Den, Spotbilt and Anzac Electric. Mary volunteered at the local Salvation Army. Though she had many attributes, including her sense of humor and love of practical jokes, Mary will best be remembered by the way in which she touched her family and friends with her generosity. She dashed to yard sales and flea markets with reckless abandonment, always seeking the art of a deal. She gave without regret, always placing the needs of others above her own. Mary’s children and grandchildren have learned the gift of accepting all others into the family fold by watching her do it without hesitation over the years. And by remembering this, will keep her legacy alive. Mary will be forever remembered by her six children and their partners; daughter, Bonnie (Roach) Cole and husband, Gary, of Dixmont; daughter, Paula (Roach) Harriman and Wayne Eaton of Hampden; daughter, Connie (Bishop) Ramsay and husband, Louis, of Hampden; son, Larry Bishop and wife, Bonny, of Milford; daughter, Mary (Bishop) Holbrook and husband, Randy, of Hermon; and daughter, Gloria (Bishop) Curtis and Joe Lane of Naples, Fla.; sister, Toby and Alfred Corbett; brother, John O’Donnell; and sister, Pat O’Donnell and Ed Pare’; grandchildren, Amidy and Shon, Michael and Melissa, Jessica and Jake, Andy, Leon and Jody, Evan and Jaime, Jenni and Lance, Courtney and Caleb, Taylor and Jason, Sara, Justin, Logan and JoJo, Grammie’s Harley man; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Faye Ellen, Patrick, Samual, Dylan, Riley, Jazlynn and Melaina; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in Maine and Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Edna; granddaughter, Amber Jo Cole; son-in-law, Roy Harriman; and sister-in-law, Frankie O’Donnell. Special remembrance of her life by George, Butch, Frankie and Eddie. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt, pastor of St. Matthews Catholic Church of Hampden officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport.
