BAR HARBOR – Maude E. Pelletier, 75, died Dec. 28, 2006, at home after a brief battle with cancer. She was born March 12, 1931, in her homestead in Town Hill to Burnham G. Richardson Sr. and Bertella H. (Gray) Richardson. Maude worked for many years doing motel work. In 1971, she completed her certified nurses aide course and started working for Mount Desert Island Hospital and then moved on to do private nursing duty. Maude was predeceased by her husband, Elmer S. Pelletier Sr.; four sisters, Emma, Prisilla, Etta, and Cassie; and one brother, Burnham Jr. She is survived by her five children, Elmer S. Pelletier Jr. of Damariscotta, Christy A. Miller of Damariscotta, Craig D. Pelletier and wife, Wendy, of Trenton, Polly A. Walls and husband, Brent, of Mount Desert and Mark W. Pelletier Sr. of Lamoine; two sisters, Lucy Stanley of Mount Desert and Mildred Kidder of Newport; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. At Maude’s request, there will be a private service. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Hospice Home & Health Care.
