NORWAY – Maureen Ann Kieffer-Taylor, 41, died Aug. 14, 2004, at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with M.S. Maureen was born March 20, 1963, in Caribou, to Pat and Leo Kieffer. She was educated in Maine. She graduated from Caribou High School and went on to receive two degrees from SMVTI. Maureen loved to cook and knit and was a certified aerobics and water aerobics instructor. She was a bargain shopper, loved antiquing, and collected Polish Pottery. Maureen loved life and loved to laugh, she could brighten a room with a joke or a story even to the very end. She traveled the world with her husband and two daughters, living in Alabama, Germany, Tennessee, Georgia and finally back to Maine so she could be with her entire family for her last years. Maureen was the beloved wife of Richard V. Taylor III of Norway and the mother of two wonderful daughters, Amanda Catherine and Kelsey Erin Taylor, also of Norway. Maureen is also survived by her parents, Pat and Leo Kieffer of Caribou; her brothers and their wives, Rob and Lehrle Kieffer of Caribou, Scott and Pam Kieffer of Saco; her sisters and their husbands, Cathy and Bob French of Caribou, Colleen and Donald Leon of Charlotte N.C., Beth and Tim Harms of Navarre, Fla., Keri and Dave Hentosh of Bridgewater; her brothers-in-law and their wives, Sean and Barbara Taylor of Gorham, Jon Taylor of Augusta; her sisters-in-law, and their husbands, Cinthia Taylor of Portland, Deborah and Stephen Kluckowski of Milton N.Y., Kimberly and Delroy Butler of Milton, Mass., and her in-laws, Janice Taylor of Windham, Richard Taylor of Scarborough and his wife, Lorraine. Maureen has requested that her friends and family hold a celebration of her life in the Irish Tradition, in lieu of a traditional funeral and wake. This will be held in two locations; the first will be held Friday Aug. 20, time and location to follow, the second will be on Saturday the 21st at Rob and Lehrle Kieffer’s camp on the north shore of Madawaska Lake at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends and family who wish, may make a memorial donation to Caribou High School Scholarship Fund, 628 Main St., Caribou, ME 04736 Re: Maureen Kieffer-Taylor Scholarship Fund.
