HOLDEN – Maxine E. Lee, 80, died May 17, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 26, 1924, in Danforth, the daughter of Reginald and Mae (Comeau) Mailman. She graduated with top honors from Danforth High School on May 20, 1942. Her hobbies were playing Bingo, puzzles, Yahtzee, reading, and crossword puzzles. Maxine was employed for many years with Emple Knitting Mill and Striar Textile, and in her later years doing home health care. In addition to her parents Maxine was predeceased by her husband, Ardie R. Lee Sr. in 1999; and by eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Lee Halperin and husband, Irving, of Juno Beach, Fla.; five sons, Ardie Lee and wife, Darlene, of Eddington, Ronnie Lee of Eddington, Marty Lee and wife, Hope, of Clifton, Steve Lee and wife, Vickie, of Holden, and David Lee of Holden; a sister, Mildred Smith of Springfield; a brother, John Mailman and wife, Charlene, of Enfield; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held 1-2 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005, with services at 2 p.m. Friday, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Roger Tracy, officiating. Private interment will be in the Clewleyville Cemetery, Holden. A special thanks to Hope and the staff at Eastside Rehab for their kindness and care of Maxine.
