GOULDSBORO – Maxine Johnson Stanley went to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 22, 2004. She was born June 9, 1932, in West Gouldsboro, the daughter of Shirley and Elizabeth Johnson. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Edward H. Stanley of Gouldsboro; her daughter, Barbara Provot of Canton, Mich.; her sons, Joseph E. Stanley of South Gouldsboro, Louis H. Stanley of Gouldsboro, Rev. Victor C. Stanley of Somesville, Ronald F. Stanley of Gouldsboro, Travisse R. Stanley of Gouldsboro, Darryl E. Stanley of Vinalhaven, Matthew R. Stanley of Gouldsboro, Kent G. Stanley of Ellsworth, and Randy Paulsen of Milwaukee, Wis.; her sisters, Alice Vance of Gouldsboro and Ellie Paulson of Chetek, Wisc.; her brother, Lewis Johnson of Cherryfield; 18 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by lifelong friends, Sadie Woodworth, Alice Carter, Carole Kooyers, Avis Dunworth, Glenn Hadlock; her loving Aunt, Lois Young and the many loved ones who affectionately called her “Mother.” A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the South Gouldsboro Church. Burial to follow at the South Gouldsboro Cemetery.
