BANGOR – Michael Edward Green, 58, passed away unexpectedly March 24, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1948, in Bangor, the son of James Edward and Eleanor (Schneider) Green. He grew up in Bangor where he lived most of his life. Michael served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, serving two tours of duty and was decorated for his meritorious service. Michael was a self-employed carpenter and in his spare time enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann (Paul) Green; his mother, Eleanor Ladd of Bangor; his sons, James Edward Green, of Albuquerque, N.M., Michael Patrick Green and his wife, Amanda, of Kenduskeag and David E. Vernal of Bangor; his brothers and sisters, Elnora Hughes and husband, Patrick, of Corinth, James William Green and wife, Pamela, of Bristol, Conn., Bonita Jenkins and husband, Raleigh, of Bangor, Bruce Green and wife, Kimberly, of Bangor, Corine York and husband, Lawrence, of Bradford, Holly Garrity and husband, Gary, of Everett, Mass., Susan Merchant and husband, Michael, of Bedford, Mass. and Patrick Green and wife, Valerie, of Malden, Mass.; two grandchildren, Bryce and Brandon Green; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, including a special uncle, Robert Green of Bangor. He was predeceased by his father, James; a son, Robert A. Conlogue Nov. 1, 1987; his first wife, Roseanna M. Green April 3, 1989; and a brother, Earland Green. Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Cynthia C. Nickerson, pastor of the Corinth United Methodist Church officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Glenburn.
