OVIEDO, Fla. – Michael G. Haluska, 52, died Jan. 29,2006, at a Florida hospital. He was born Nov. 14, 1953, at Patuxent River, Md., the son of George and Maryanne Haluska. He graduated from Saint John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, Mass. in 1971. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1975 and worked as a first assistant marine engineer for Exxon until his retirement in 1995. He is survived by his wife of six years, Janet Haluska; three children, David Haluska of Old Town, Nathan Haluska of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Michelle Haluska of Brewer; two brothers, Christopher Haluska of Coronado, Calif. and Gregory Haluska of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Marya Haluska of San Francisco, Calif.; and his parents, George and Maryanne Haluska of Coronado, Calif. A Catholic Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Newman Center, 83 College Ave., Orono, with Fr. Bill Labbe, UMO campus chaplain, officiating.
