HERMON – Michael J. Spearing, 63, died March 25, 2008, at his home, after a courageous two-year battle with leukemia. He was born Aug. 3, 1944, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Harry and Vivian (McGarrigle) Spearing. Michael was employed by the Bangor school department for 40 years. He enjoyed model railroading and was a member of Eastern Maine Model Railroad Club and also enjoyed coin collecting. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Agrell) Spearing of Hermon; his children, Liane Woodruff of Illinois, Randi Norwood of Bangor, Jeremy Norwood, serving in Iraq, and his wife, Kim, of Fort Drum, N.Y.; one brother, Matthew Spearing of Bangor; his grandson, Brian Norwood; and “Daddy’s Girl,” his dachshund, Macie. Special thanks to Grant 6 oncology, Dr. Shankar and CancerCare of Maine for all the care and compassion given to Mike over the last two years. Also thanks to his sister-in-law, Gayle Agrell; and special friends, Alan Reynolds, Joe McCann; and Mary Snow School staff for always being there. A service of remembrance will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. James Agrell officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Mary Snow School Gym immediately after the service Saturday.
