BANGOR – Mildred C. Easler, 82, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005. She was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Bangor. She was trained in key punch operation by IBM in the early days of computer technology while working for the B&A Railroad. She moved to Stockton, Calif., in 1951, where she made her home. She was employed by the data processing department of Stockton Unified School District until she retired in 1986. She loved animals and always had pets. She also loved to travel and took off whenever possible. She always made sure that she came to what she still called home at least once a year – Bangor, Maine. She enjoyed activities involving her family and friends. She did volunteer work for Catholic Charities and the Athletic Department of the Edison High School in Stockton. Mildred is survived by her sister, Geraldine Edwards of Tracy, Calif.; two brothers, Guy Easler and his wife, Marguerite of Owls Head and George Easler and his wife, Teresa, of Owego, N.Y.; and numerous nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 754 Ohio St., Bangor, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, celebrant. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
