SHERMAN – Mildred Carter, 86, died Sept. 3, 2007, in Millinocket. She was born June 18, 1921, in Stacyville, the daughter of Marvin and Georgie (McGrath) Allen. Mildred was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, and the Sherman walking group. She is survived by three children, Brenda and her husband, Leroy Carrow, of Levant, Ona and her husband, Edward McAvoy, of Benedicta, and Brent and his wife, Stacy Carter, of Turner; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Carter of Old Town; seven grandchildren, Larry, Joey, Mellissa, Nicki, Brandon, Kristen and Darren; four greatgrandchildren; one sister, Norma Tedford of Medway; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Larry; and one son, Willis. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Donnie Willigar officiating.
