ASHLAND – Dorothy A. Bushey, 78, loving wife of Gerald Bushey, went to be with the Lord Sept. 3, 2007, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born July 26, 1929, at Portage Lake, the daughter of Raymond and Blanche (Levesque) Garrity. Dorothy left Portage Lake at an early age after the death of her mother, and moved to Connecticut where she was cared for by her special aunt, Rosa Corbin. “Dot,” as she was known to many people, was known as a great cook in local restaurants. She enjoyed working tirelessly on many luncheons for St. Mark’s Parish. Dot was a people person and had a great love for the Presque Isle and Fryeburg Fairs. She was especially proud of being a 50-year member of Our Lady of the Snows Sodality at St. Mark’s. She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Gerald Bushey of Ashland; two sons, Ronald R. Bushey of Ashland, and Keith J. Bushey of Old Orchard Beach; one daughter, Robin M. Bushey and her special friend, Jack McGill, of Palm Bay, Fla.; a special nephew, Gary and his wife, Michelle, and children, Garrett and Gabrielle; her special aunt, Rosa Corbin. She was predeceased by one son, George D. Bushey; and by a sister, Marolyn Garrity. Relatives and friends may call 9 a.m. Thursday until time of service at St. Mark Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday. A private committal service for the family will be held at the parish cemetery.
