MILDRED DAVIS MOODY QUARRY HILL – Mildred Davis Moody, 94, died April 22, 2004, at The Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill after a long illness. Her daughter was at her side. She was born Oct. 31, 1909, in North Waldoboro, and was one of identical twin daughters of Lozene and Hattie J. Davis. She graduated from Union High School in 1928, and went to work in Rockland baby-sitting and keeping house. On Jan. 4, 1936, she married Karl R. Moody of Warren. They made their home in Warren for a brief time and then moved to South Union, where they resided for many years. Mrs. Moody enjoyed being a homemaker and often watched the neighborhood kids. From time to time she could be found substituting for the PostMistress at the South Union Post Office. She enjoyed watching sports, going for rides and spending time with her family. Mildred was predeceased by her devoted husband, Karl, in 1972; brothers, Harold and Maurice Davis; identical twin sister, Myrtle Davis; and son-in-law, Forest Bradeen. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Bradeen of Union; four stepgrandchildren, Forest Bradeen Jr. and his wife, Ione, of Payson, Ariz., Carol Robinson and her husband, Edgar, of Enfield, Conn., James Bradeen of Searsmont, Joanne Szolga and her husband, Keith, of Fairview Heights, Ill.; several step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Richard Smith and his wife, Claire, of Essex Junction, Vt.; special niece, Judy Hill and her husband, Anthony, of Warren; sister-in-law, Mildred Davis, of Camden. Visiting hours will be held from 7-8 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at the Peoples United Methodist Church in Union, with the Rev. Michelle Grube officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Union. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mildred’s memory to the People’s United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 105, Union, ME 04862. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro.
