BREWER – Mildred I. Bowden, 82, passed peacefully, Tuesday, June 6, 2006, with her children by her side at a Bangor nursing home. She was born April 18, 1924, in Forest City, the youngest daughter of Ambrose and Bird (Graham) Farrell. Mildred was a devoted Mom, gramma, Mimi and great-great-gramma. She enjoyed her flower garden, crocheting, embroidery, crossword puzzles, reading and writing poetry. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Dana Stillman; three brothers, Kenneth, Ernest and Richard; two sons, Stephen and Alan; a grandson, Freddie and her second husband, George Bowden. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy; children, Sandra Hamlin, Kenneth Bowden and his wife, Pam, Sharon Bowden and friend, Vic, Larry Stillman and his wife, Serena; grandchildren, Jeff Hamlin and his wife, Sharon, Kimberly Dimon and her husband, Charlie, Rich Hamlin and friend, Ann, Amanda, Forrest Bowden and his wife, Gerry, Scott Bowden and his wife, Shannon, Shanna Barclay, Alan, Kevin and Timothy Evans and Chad Noonan; great-grandchildren, Amy, Justin, Joshua, Christi, Kevin, Ciera Rae, Nelson, Cotey, Brian, Sierra, Zach, Jason, Kari, Heather, Shaun and Dakota; great-great-grandchildren, Samantha, Anna, Jacob, Lily and Jack; a sister-in-law, Florence Farrell and Winnota Reynolds; cousins, Helen and Jimmy Cowan; and several nieces and nephews; her special friends, Louise, Gloria and Bob, Ruth and Joann; and her four-legged great-dogs and great-cats. Family and friends may visit 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, where a funeral service will immediately be afterward with Pastor Marvin Overlock officiating. A graveside committal will also follow at South Levant Cemetery, Horseback Road, South Levant.
