BANGOR – Mildred (Wood) Bragdon, 85, wife of 55 years to the late Rodney Bragdon, died peacefully March 14, 2006, surrounded by family at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 31, 1920, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Earl and Marion (Maynard) Wood. Mildred was a loving and doting wife to Rodney, mother to Gene and grandmother to Jennifer and Ben. She will also be remembered fondly for her caring ways by her nieces and nephews, neighbors and all the neighborhood children. You never were in need of food, your pockets never empty of candy or cupcakes when “Nana” was around. She dedicated her life to her husband Rodney and her love for Grampy never swayed in the 55 years they were married or the 10 years that followed his death, when he was never far from her thoughts. Mildred is survived by her daughter-in-law, T.C. Hanna and her husband, David, of Brewer; granddaughter, Jennifer Brooks and her husband, Larry, of Brewer; grandson, Ben of Dover-Foxcroft; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alex and Jordan Brooks; brother, Raymond and his wife, Josephine, of Marlboro; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney; son, Gene; brothers, Robert and Earl Wood; and sisters, Gertrude and Margaret. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
