WOODLAND – Roland J. Durette, 59, beloved husband of 36 years to Rhonda (Pelkey) Durette, went home to be with his Lord and Savior March 14, 2006, as the result of an automobile accident in Caribou. He was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Van Buren, the son of Arsene and Albertine (Dube) Durette. Roland was employed as a carpenter for several area construction companies and was an active member of the Abundant Life Mission in Caribou. He married Rhonda Pelkey Feb. 21, 1970 and was a loving and devoted husband, father and papa. Surviving in addition to his wife, Rhonda of Woodland; are his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Amy Durette of Woodland; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Tracy McHatten of Connor Township and Nichole and Richard Kindelan of Gardiner; two brothers, Alphy Durette of Van Buren and Ronald Durette of Grand Falls, N.B.; two sisters, Delima Godin of London, Ontario and Marie Goad of Dalzell, S.C.; and four very special grandchildren, Amanda and Tia McHatten, Zachary Kindelan and Liza Durette. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. Loretta Doody and the Rev. Roger Jewell officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery.
