VAN BUREN and CARIBOU – Millicent Hook, 92, wife of the late Leo Hook, died March 5, 2006, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. She was born Nov. 12, 1913, at New York City, N.Y., the daughter of Peter and Anna (Polansky) Yankowski. She was a graduate of the Washington Irving High School in New York. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. Millicent is survived by three sons, Thomas Hook of Van Buren, Robert Hook and his wife, Susan, of Woodland and William Hook and his wife, Penney, of Levittown, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Christopher Hook, William Hook Jr. and Michele Hook; and one great-grandson, Drew Alexander Hook. She was predeceased by two brothers, Stephen and Paul Yankowski. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Susan Murphy, officiating. Interment will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Millicent may do so through the Priest Discretionary Fund at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Envelopes may be obtained at the church. Arrangements are by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
