NEW SWEDEN – Keith O. Roble, 54, beloved husband of Nancy Holmquist Roble, died unexpectedly March 4, 2006, at his home in New Sweden. He was born March 14, 1951, in Spring Grove, Minn., the son of Ernest and Signe (Roverud) Roble. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and worked as an agricultural engineer. He worked in various places in Minnesota before making his home in Maine. He worked at the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service based in Presque Isle. Keith enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours working and “playing” on his farm in New Sweden. He taught his family to be good stewards of the piece of God’s creation entrusted to them. Keith was a faithful member and leader in the Covenant Church of New Sweden. He was always ready to help others in any way he could. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Nancy and a great dad to his son, Niklas H. Roble of New Sweden. He is also survived by his parents, Ernest and Signe Roble of Spring Grove, Minn.; two sisters, Joyce Bergrud and her husband, Steven, of Spring Grove, Minn. and Jennifer Ellingson and her husband, Dean, also of Spring Grove, Minn.; a brother, Craig Roble and his wife, Linda, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and nieces and nephews, Angie and Peter Bergrud, Lisa and Jason Roble, Sam and Nicki Ellingson, all of Minnesota. A niece, Sarah Bergrud; and a nephew, Joel Roble predeceased him. Friends and family may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Covenant Church in New Sweden, with the Rev. Shelly Timber, officiating. Spring interment will be at New Sweden Cemetery, New Sweden. Donations in Keith’s memory may be made to either the Covenant Church of New Sweden or a special Conservation Education memorial through the Central Aroostook Soil and Water Conservation District, 735 Main St., Suite 3, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
