HOULTON – Milton B. Lambert Jr., 86, died Feb. 16, 2005, at Madigan Estates. He was born Jan. 28, 1919, at Mars Hill, the son of Milton B. and Mildred (Allen) Lambert. Milton’s working career was spent as manager and subsequently owner of Houlton Farms Dairy. He had a long- term commitment to community service, having been a member of the Parks and Recreation Board for 14 years and serving as its chairman for several years. He was a member of the Board of School Directors for nine years, also serving as its chairman for many years. He was a successful Little League baseball coach and longtime supporter of Special Olympics. He will be remembered by his family for his significant support of innumerable charitable endeavors, mostly anonymously. He was devoted to his grandchildren, constantly challenging them to think and imparting in them a strong sense of integrity. He was unique. Milton is survived by his son, Peter Lambert and his wife, Marjie Harris, of Bangor; his daughter, Judi Britton and her husband, Robert, of Littleton; five grandchildren, Mark Britton, Kim Britton, Heidi Yeaw, Ethan Lambert and Gillian Lambert; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Keith Lambert of Fort Kent, Don Lambert of Farmingdale, Neil Lambert of Augusta, Bryce Lambert of Brunswick, Duane Lambert of Houlton; two sisters, Joyce Saunders of Houlton, Jean Jackins of Topsham; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Hatfield) Lambert; his parents; one sister, Grete Gentle; four brothers Winston, Blaine, Deane, and Clair Lambert. Friends may call 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steven Straubel officiating.
