MILBRIDGE – Milton Chipman, 87, died Jan. 5, 2004, at his home in Wyman follo-wing a long illness. He was born Sept. 18, 1916, at Wyman the son of John and Rena (Beal) Chipman. During World War II he served the U.S. Navy. Milton was a lobsterman his entire life fishing from the time he was 10 until he was 84. He loved his time on the water and the time he spent with his friends. Milton enjoyed feeding birds and watching them at his birdhouses. He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Florence Chipman; his daughter, Martha Currier and her husband, Jim, all of Wyman; his son, Ronald Chipman and his wife, Laura, of Addison; three grandson, John Chipman and his wife, Rhonda, of Scarborough, Darren Chipman and his wife, Shasa of Portland, and Jimmy Currier and his wife, Deborah of North Attleboro, Mass.; four great grandchildren, Ryan and Danny and Monica and Tyler; three sisters, Eva Tracy of Milbridge, Marjorie Etta and her husband, Fred, of North Yarmouth, and Arlene Bean and her husband, Joe, of Yarmouth; one brother, Phillip Chipman of Milbridge; two stepchildren, Jan Wolford and her husband, Joe, of The Dalles, Ore., and Ralph Pineo Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Whitneyville; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a special nephew, Joey Bean of Durham. He was predeceased by two brothers, Thurman and Bill. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, with Owen Beal officiating. At his request there will be no visiting hours. Internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge.
