MILO – Morna C. Lewis, 65, passed away Oct 25, 2004, and was gathered to her people, at a Dover-Foxcroft healthcare facility, after a long, courageous battle with diabetes, with never a complaint or hint of fear. She was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Milo, the daughter of the late George C. and Thelma (Ellis) Crabtree. Morna graduated from Milo High School in 1957. After graduated she attended both a business and beauty school. She worked at the Milo Dexter Shoe factory for 18 years, than spent years as a personal care attendant for her father until his passing in 1992, and then for many other local elderly people. She was an avid sports fan, attending many years of high school basketball and soccer games supporting all the kids in the Milo school system. Many people who attended the Milo schools during the years of 1976-1983 will remember riding to games in Morna’s gold Chevy pickup and egging her on to dance when she chaperoned many of the Milo Recreation Dances. She is survived by one daughter, Valerie and her husband, Robert Ekholm, of Milo; two grandchildren, Candice and Jenny Ekholm, both of Milo; one sister, Lorraine Johnson of Corea and her children, Randy Johnson, of Corea and Sheila Clapp of Lincoln; other nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Lewis. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at Pine Tree Cemetery in Milo.
