MEDDYBEMPS – Morrill W. “Pete” Jestings, died Dec. 23, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1933, to Lona (Sheridan) Jestings and Manley Jestings. He worked for 24 years for Bell Telephone, he also worked for Eastern Agency on Aging, which he considered a very rewarding job. Pete served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Pete is survived by his wife, Judith (Thompson) Jestings of Meddybemps; sister, Sarah (Jestings) Lund of East Machias; brother, Gene Jestings and wife, Polly, of Calais; daughter, Maryellen Morrell and husband, Eric, of Robbinston; stepdaughters, Linda Leavitt of Calais, Vicki Grant and husband, George, of Alexander; stepson, Randy Ketchen and wife, Jill, of Portland; grandchildren, Jessica Ketchen, Jessica Leavitt and Chris Leavitt; three special nieces, Marlene Hawbaker of East Machias, Bonnie Cleghorn of St. Stephens, N.B. and Karen Parks of St. Stephens, N.B.; special friend, Wendy Kennedy of Meddybemps. Graveside service will be held sometime in the spring. Make charitable donations to Meddybemps Church or Cathance Grange.
