BOCA RATON, Fla. and PRESQUE ISLE – Morton Zahler 86, passed away March 3, 2006 after a long illness. Morton was born and raised in New Jersey and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II. Eventually, he moved to Maine, where he met his wife, Jo Ann. He then became president and chief executive officer of Red Ball Potato Company, Red Hawk Farms and Eastern Potato Dealers. For the past 20 years he has resided in Boca Raton, Fla. Morton always had a friendly smile and a kind heart. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann; daughter, Francine Jill; a son and daughter-in-law; Kenneth and Joanne and their children, Jennifer and Brennan. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Rabbi Ray Gribetz, officiating. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service. A spring interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in Mr. Zahler’s memory to the Hospice of Aroostook, P.O.
