PEMBROKE – Muriel A. Short, 71, died Dec. 19, 2004, at her home in Pembroke. She was born Aug. 12, 1933, in South Portland, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Hood) Ashby. Muriel attended the Charlotte Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Calvin Short of Pembroke; three sons, Frank L. Short and Darvin W. Short, both of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tracey L. Short of Hillsboro, Texas; one brother, Donald Ashby of Arizona; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Charlotte Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Clarkside Cemetery, Pembroke.
