DEXTER – Myrtle L. Robinson, 84, died June 29, 2005, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born March 23, 1921, in Fort Fairfield, to William and Ina (Boxwell) Henderson. She and her husband, Perley, moved to Charleston in 1945, where they raised chickens until 1964. After selling the farm, they did extensive traveling until they settled in Deland, Fla. in 1980. After Perley’s death on May 13, 1983, Myrtle remained in Florida until March of 2000. She lived at the Chaia Apartments in Dexter until August of 2004, when illness forced her to Hibbard Nursing Home, where she received excellent care. She is survived by her seven children, Verla and her husband, Frank Lucas of Hampden, Eugene and his wife, Dot, of Garland, Marline Nightingale of Garland, Gloria and her husband, Robert Brooks, of Little Deer Isle, Michael and his wife, Evelyn, of Charleston, Dale and his friend, Tanya, of Dexter, Connie and her husband, Jim Martin, of Orange City, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grand-children; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was known as “GG” by all her grandchildren. She also leaves close cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom she enjoyed writing and talking to on the phone. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Perley; 16 brothers and sisters; and a special son-in-law, Dalton Nightingale, who died Feb. 13, 1983. At her request there will be no viewing hours. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Garland Community Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Buzzell, presiding. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Garland.
