BANGOR – Nanci Ingraham, passed away peacefully Aug. 21, 2004, at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by loved ones, after a brief illness. She was raised in Waterville, and graduated from Waterville High School in 1961, and attended the University of Miami. Her first of many careers, was as a hair stylist, working in Miami, New York, and owning her own business in Winslow. She sold her business and married Allan Ingraham. They moved to Bangor, and she became a homemaker and stay at home mother for about 15 years. Nanci then began a 10 year career as a horse trainer at Bass Park. In her forties she returned to college and earned a degree in the medical records field from the University of Maine. At the time of her death, she was employed with the Maine Veterans’ Home of Bangor for eight years in the medical records department. Nanci was predeceased by her parents of Waterville, Leon “Clarkie” and Doris (Fitton) Clark. She is survived by her brother, Glenn A. Clark of East Holden; Allan Ingraham of Levant, the father of her twin daughters, Jill Ingraham of Albuquerque, N.M. and Jodi Lynne Ingraham-Albert and her husband, Richard Albert, of Old Town; her two precious grandchildren, Hunter Albert and Olivia Albert, and her beloved animals; also special friends, Peter Devine, Marta Gandara, Joe Dudley, and Lila Davis and her family. Nanci was so much too so many. She was an accomplished equestrian, assisted in creating the first search and rescue equestrian team of Maine, an artist, traveler, loving mother, sister, aunt, friend and her favorite and most cherished role as Nana. She had many friends and family in Maine and New Mexico. Nanci will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She always had a love of life and relentless energy. She was an amazing woman to know and love. A special thank you goes out to all the nurses at EMMC that cared for her, especially the nurses in the I.C.U.
