CORINTH AND CLINTON, Conn. – A graveside service for Nancy (Peirce) Kelly will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 7, at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, with the Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, officiating. Nancy was the daughter of Madeline and Clyde Peirce of East Corinth. Nancy is a graduate of Corinth schools and the Higgins Classical Institute. She received her undergraduate degree in education from the University of Maine at Orono. She also completed a master’s of education at the University of Hartford. She went on to teach elementary school in Killingworth, Conn., for 31 years. She was a beloved Mother, a dedicated and passionate teacher, a loving sister and aunt, and a faithful friend. Nancy was also an avid gardener and pet lover. She embodied the spirit of Maine through her passion for life, kindness towards others, compassion for all, and strong will to succeed in all her endeavors. She died on Feb. 1, 2004, on the first day of her 61st year. Nancy, who lived in Clinton, Conn., is survived by her children, David Kelly, Terri Rubin and her husband, Steven; her twin grandchildren, Matthew and Natalie Rubin; her sister, Kay Clark; her husband, Spurgeon and F.
