THOMASTON – Nathalie B. Hahn (Whittier), 81, a life long resident of Thomaston, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland after a short period of ill health. Born on May 13, 1923 in Randolph, the daughter of Roy and Jessie Wilson Bell. Nathalie moved to Thomaston with her family at a young age and graduated from Thomaston High School. She married Roland Hahn and together they raised three children, Judy, Nancy, and James. She was predeceased by her son, James Judson Hahn and her first husband, Roland J. Hahn. Nat was a very active person, had many diverse interests, and along with being employed as a dental assistant, was involved in and worked diligently for many community events, remained committed to her family and friends, and was always genuinely supportive of them. Nat had a cheerful, energetic, lively spirit, enjoyed social activities and never wanted to miss “a good time”. She spent considerable periods engaging in her artwork, primarily focusing on oils. Nat never turned down any opportunities, including fishing, attending sports events, art exhibits, day trips, or gatherings of family and friends. She was dedicated to and supportive of the Federated Church in Thomaston, having been an active member for many years and raising her children as church members. Nat also was a productive and enthusiastic volunteer for the Rockland-Thomaston Chamber of Commerce. She was active on behalf of the Fourth of July Committee in Thomaston and took an unparalleled interest in the “Green Street” floats, along with being involved with the Thomaston Historical Society. Nathalie leaves behind the following survivors, Judy Olson of Cushing; Nancy and George (Skip) Talbot of Farmington, Conn.; Tori Talbot and partner, Chris Yattaw, of Port Clyde; James and Paula Talbot of Bristol, Conn.; Jessie Olson and partner, Jason Marriner, of Vinalhaven; Parker Talbot and Bailey Talbot, both of Farmington, Conn.; Richard Marriner and Ashton Marriner, both of Vinalhaven; James and Margaret Bell of Manchester, Conn.; Jack and Mary Bell of Bangor; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the Federated Church, Hyler Street, Thomaston, with the Rev. Robert Dorr officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Village Cemetery, Thomaston.
