PLYMOUTH – Neil E. Oliver, 71, formerly of Connecticut, died Feb. 22, 2004, at a Pittsfield nursing care facility, following a short illness. He was the son of Neil Oliver Sr. and Stanley and Mary Dunakin, who predeceased him. He was born May 23, 1932, in Hartford, Conn. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany. He was a Connecticut Transit Authority bus driver for many years until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Austin) Oliver of Plymouth; five children, Thomas of Michigan, Lori of Florida, Lisa of Florida, Linda of Indiana, and Patti of Florida. He is also survived by six sisters, Marybeth of Plymouth, Sharon of Florida, Sandy of Florida, Peggy of Florida, Beverly of Connecticut, Barbara of New Jersey; two brothers, Richard of Plymouth and Stanley Jr. of Florida; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several very special nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his two “babies,” his dog, Amy and cat, K.C. At Neil’s request there are no public services or visiting hours. Graveside committal services will be conducted in the spring at Sawyer Cemetery Plymouth. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport.
