PORTLAND – Jane M. McCormack, 39, of Middle Road, Falmouth, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, from injuries sustained in a skiing accident at Sunday River Ski Resort. She was born in Portland, daughter of Norman and Marie Koceika McCormack. She attended Portland schools, graduating from Deering High School, Class of 1982. She also was a recent graduate summa cum laude from University of New England with a degree in education. Jane was currently employed at Reiche School, where she began her career in education as a Ed-Tech and more recently obtained a position as second grade teacher. She was loved by all her students and teaching staff. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf and loving life to its fullest. She always had a smile that attracted everyone she came in contact with. Jane also enjoyed going to the beach and travelling. She leaves four brothers, Peter and his wife, Bretna McCormack, of Portland, Gregory and his wife, Sue McCormack, of Gorham, Philip and his wife, Debra McCormack, of Freeport, John McCormack and his wife, Irene von Hoffman, of Orono; two sisters, Anne McCormack of New Gloucester, Connie and her husband, Steve Merrill, of Falmouth; nieces and nephews, Morgan and Kelsey McCormack, Johann von Hoffman, Lynn and Sean Merrill, Alice “Big Al”, Kelly and Parker McCormack, Brianna, Preston and Connor Hughes, Rachel McCormack; her very special aunt, Helen MacWilliams, and the love of her life, Bruce Brown. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jane’s memory may be made to Reiche School, 166 Brackett St., Portland, ME 04102.
