BALTIMORE, Md. and BROOKLIN – Neil Garrett Johnson, 25, died Jan. 13, 2005, in Baltimore, Md. after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born March 23, 1979, in Garden Grove, Calif., the son of Craig L. and Katherine T. (Grosh) Johnson. Neil attended the University of Maine in Orono and later graduated from Purdue University in 2003, with a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Management Information Systems. Neil was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed kite-surfing, rock-climbing, sailing, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking and traveling. He was known for his love of life, sense of adventure, quick wit, and infectious grin. In addition to his parents, Neil is survived by his sister, Jamie Gracz of San Diego, Calif.; his brother, Andrew Johnson of Baltimore, Md.; grandparents, Raymond and Laura Johnson of Port Allegany, Pa.; grandparents, Richard and Suzanne Grosh of Brooklin, aunts and uncles, Tony and Barbara Grosh of Destin, Fla., Richard and Michele Grosh of Palmyra, Va., John and Martha Grosh of Westminster, Colo., Jane and Greg Allgair of Newtown, Pa., Suzanne and Tye Smith of Smyrna, Ga., Dee Johnson Turberville of Birmingham, Ala., Kirk and Sandy Johnson of Edinboro, Pa., and Ty and Myriah Johnson of Afton, Va.; loving girlfriend, Christina Hussey of Sanford; many cousins; and his two black labs, Baxter and Dudley. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Jan. 16, 2005, at the Blue Hill Congregational UCC Church, Blue Hill. Interment will be at Brooklin Cemetery.
