TOWN HILL – Nellie J. Stover, 97, died Feb. 19, 2005, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 7, 1907, in Eastbrook, daughter of Augustus B. and Carrie “Butler” Jellison. Nellie is survived by two daughters, Marion Stover and Mary Kolodziejski, both of Town Hill; one grandson, James Irving Kolodziejski of Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Nellie Ann Kolodziejsk of Town Hill; and many nieces and nephews. Nellie was predeceased by her husband, Irving Stover; two brothers, Alvin and Maynard; and a sister, Julia. She worked for 26 years as a bookkeeper for C. E. Marcyes Insurance Company and four years for The Swan Agency. She was a former member of the Town Hill Federated Church; a member of The Irene Chapter of the Eastern Star of Ellsworth as well as past patron; member of the Bar Harbor Senior Citizens and the Town Hill Village Improvement Society as well as being Trustee. Friends are invited to call noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at The Fernald Funeral Chapel, Main Street, Mt. Desert, where funeral services will be held. At Nellie’s request, gifts can be made in her memory to Southwest Harbor Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 434, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679 or the Irene Chapter of the Eastern Star, care of Jeri Holt, P.O. Box 389, Ellsworth, ME 04605. Spring internment will be Bay View Cemetery, Franklin.
