AUGUSTA – Norma E. “Jamie” Lajoie, 77, died June 25, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born May 28, 1928, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Perley D. Jamison and Freda L. (Lewis) Jamison. Norma graduated from Bridgewater (Maine) Classical Academy in 1946. She continued her education at the Augusta General Hospital (now MaineGeneral Medical Center) School of Nursing where she graduated in 1949 as a registered nurse. She married Gerald L. Lajoie Oct. 12, 1956. He predeceased her on Sept. 24, 1999. Norma retired in 1993 from Kennebec Valley Medical Center after 45 years of service as a registered nurse. Survivors include her son, Gary D. Lajoie and his wife, Rachel and their daughter, Renee; three daughters, Kathy A. Brown and her husband, Walter and their daughters, Stephanie and Jessica McGary, Jolene Marchessault and her husband, Ray, and Michelle Marquis and her daughter, Danielle, and son, Mitchell; one aunt, Elsie Lewis; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Augusta.
