CARMEL – Norma J. Demmons, 69, wife of Walter Demmons passed away peacefully July 1, 2005, at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born July 9, 1935, in Brewer, a daughter of Louis Saulnier and Sarah Micalowski. Norma attended Bangor schools. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana. Her hobbies included playing cards and bingo and she dearly loved children, family gatherings and cats. In addition to her husband of 52 years, Walter; she is survived by her children; sons, Steven W. Demmons and wife, Ellen, of Lyman, Donald E. Demmons of Carmel, Daniel W. Demmons Sr. of Etna, Michael T. Demmons of Bangor, Gerald A. Demmons and wife, Penny, of Levant; daughter, Laurie A. Stevenson and husband, Scott, of Brunswick; brother, Nicholas Saulnier of Florida; sisters, Josephine DeCourcy and husband, Russ, of Florida and Constance Lehman and husband, Gene, of Florida; grandchildren, Travis Demmons, Mandee Rae, Adam Demmons, Corrie Young, Danny Demmons Jr., Heidi Carlisle, Kellie Demmons, Jessica Newcomb, Christina Demmons, Erica Demmons, Shanna Demmons, Luke Demmons, Derek Bedami, Kane Stevenson, Emily Stevenson, Luke Stevenson; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was dearly adored by many extended family members. She was predeceased by brothers, Louis and Malcolm “Pete” Saulnier, both of Florida; and daughter-in-law, Shirley R. Demmons, wife of Daniel W. Demmons Sr. A memorial service honoring her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2005, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, with the Pastor Jerry Mick of Bangor Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer society, One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
