LUCERNE-IN-MAINE – Norman C. Fitz-Patrick, 71, died Feb. 15, 2004, at his home in Dedham. He was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Quincy, Mass., the son of Norman and E. Althea (Day) Fitz-Patrick. Norman graduated from Cony High School in Augusta, and then served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot and flight instructor from 1951-1955. He then attended the University of Maine, graduating with a BS degree in economics. He was an agronomist and served the farmers of Northern and Eastern Maine in soil/crop science. He was the owner of Fitzco Farm Center in Hermon from 1987 to 1997. After retiring in 1997, he managed the Lucerne Hills Golf Club, and was very fond of his two miniature Schnauzers, Leppy and Paddy. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Bennett) Fitz-Patrick of Lucerne-in-Maine; two stepchildren, Donald D. Brown and his wife, Joanne, of Derry, N.H., Deborah Brown Smith and her husband, Tom, of Orrington; one brother, James E. Fitz-Patrick of Gardner; brother-in-law, James Bennett and his wife, Susan, of Wakefield, Mass.; sister-in-law, Sharon Bennett Dubay and her husband, Carroll, of Dexter. Norman’s wishes were that services will be private at the convenience of the family.
