ADDISON – Norman F. Bagley Sr., 79, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Down-east Community Hospital, Machias. He was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Centerville, the son of the late Harold and Hattie (Ramsdell) Bagley. Although he did not have the opportunity to have formal schooling, he was a self-educated engineer and a self-taught welder, who was widely requested for his talents. Through his employment, he worked for Cherryfield Foods, H.O. Penn Caterpillar and most recently self-employed. Mr. Bagley proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. Some of his enjoyments were bingo, Beano, poker, fishing, woodworking and hunting. He was also a very good singer, self-taught guitarist, harmonica player and he also played the spoons very well. Mr. Bagley was an excellent dancer. He was a member of Knights of Pythias, Addison Auxillary and Cherryfield American Legion Post No 8. Family members include his three children, Terry Bagley of Bangor, Norman “Sam” F. Bagley Jr. and wife, Carol, of Harrington and Chris Bagley and fiancee, Peggy Strout, of Gouldsboro; their mother, Elizabeth (Perry) Bagley; four grandchildren, Jenny Tuttle, Morgan Look, Jacob Bagley and Jesse Bagley; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Look; a brother, Howard Bagley and wife, Beverly, of Columbia Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Malcolm Bagley; and a granddaughter, Kristen Bagley. A celebration of life will be held 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Columbia Town Hall, Epping Road, Columbia.
