CORINNA – Norman J. Boody, 96, husband of the late Gertrude (Bragg) Boody, died Oct. 30, 2007, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born July 25, 1911, in Pittsfield, the son of Jesse and Mertie (Milliken) Boody. He attended schools in Pittsfield and Palmyra. He worked in area woolen mills, retiring from Eastland Woolen Mill where he worked as a loom fixer and did TV repair from his home. Norman married Gertrude Mae Bragg, Dec. 22, 1934, and together they built a home at Morses Corner, Corinna. He was a member of Morses Corner Baptist Church and Corinna Area Senior Citizens. Norman was an avid outdoorsman who particularly enjoyed hunting, fish-ing, trapping and gardening. He spent many enjoyable hours fishing at Moosehead Lake. He is survived by a daughter, Marlene Pray of Bangor; two sons, Philip Boody and his wife, Donna (Bird), of Bangor and Dwayne Boody and his wife, Marcia (Nye), of Monson; seven grandchildren, Rick Boody of Mobile, Ala., Ronda Beck of Portland, Robyn Missbrenner of Bangor, Stephen Pray of Glenburn, Scott Pray of Bozeman, Mont., Paula Simon of Bradford and Jana Boody of Yarmouth; five great-grand-children, Casey and Jessica Pray, Noah and Luke Missbrenner and Brandon Bautista; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special nephew, Robert Young of Bangor. In addition to his wife, with whom he shared 67 years, Norman was predeceased by four sisters, Grace, Bernice, Beatrice and Izetta; two brothers, Leland and Kenneth; and a son-in-law, Paul Pray. The family thanks the staff at Hibbard Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care of our father, gramp and great-gramp. It is truly appreciated. At dad’s request, there will be no visiting hours. Graveside services and burial will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.
