DETROIT- Norman “Jack” Wade Davis, 83, died Sunday morning at Shore Village Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rockland. He was born May 29, 1921, in Detroit, the son of Edwena Hart Davis and Merton Lorenzo Davis. Norman lived in Detroit most of his life. He attended local schools and worked in his father’s grocery store, a wood-turning mill, and as a lumberman. Norman enjoyed the outdoors and watched with great interest the changing seasons of the year. He had a love for all animals and especially exhibited a great interest in working with horses. Norman loved his family and always supported them with his care and devotion. He will be remembered by family and friends for his interest in all the people with whom he came into contact, his wonderful smile, and his great hospitality to all. Norman is survived by his sister, Eleanore Davis Perkins, of Warren; his niece, Carolyn Wiley and her husband, Howard, of Warren; a great-niece, C. Anne Reed and her husband, Jeff, of Warren; a great-niece ,Katherine Wiley of Searsport; a great-nephew, James Wiley, his wife, Karen, and their two daughters, Rachel and Isabelle, of Warren; a great-nephew, David Wiley and his wife, Hannah, of Warren; and several cousins. A graveside service will be held at the Pittsfield Village Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Donald Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield.
