DOWLING PARK, Fla. – Norman Wallace Carle, formerly of Princeton, died May 4, 2006, after a long illness. He was born May 31, 1925, in Princeton, in the house his grandfather built in 1894. He leaves his wife, Joyce Libby Carle; five sons and their wives, Barry and Joan of Enfield, Conn., David and Nancy of Windsor, Ontario, Leonard and Jane of Willoughby, Ohio, Ernest and Ellen of Princeton, Russell and Noelle of Kittery; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Margaret Tripp of Milford, N.H.; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Grace Carle; and his sister, Roberta Carle Wheaton. He graduated from Princeton High School and enlisted in the Eighth Air Force. He was a nose-gunner on a B-24 Liberator, spent nine months in England and had 31 missions over Germany. He was a farmer for 20 years and then worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Georgia Pacific for 13 years. He retired in 1987. Since 1994, he and his wife have spent winters in Dowling Park, Fla. He belonged to Bixler Memorial Advent Christian Church. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Bixler Memorial Church.
