CARIBOU – Ola Charlene Poitraw, 68, died May 15, 2007, in Caribou. She was born July 18, 1938, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Blake and Hazel (Boxwell) Farris. Ola was a member of the Solid Rock Worship Center, Caribou. She was a loving and devoted mother to her family. Surviving, in addition to her mother, Hazel of Ashland are two sons, Thomas Poitraw and his girlfriend, Kathy, of Presque Isle, and Harold Poitraw Jr. of Hollis; three daughters, Donna White and her husband, Patrick, of Perham, Mary Dionne of Caribou, and Susan Olberding and her husband, Dan, of Cabot, Ariz.; one brother, Larry Lafland and his wife, Eileen, of Brewer; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Poitraw; a brother, Leroy Farris; and a sister, Gloria Lewin. A memorial funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Solid Rock Worship Center, with the Rev. Myran Powell, pastor, officiating. Interment will take at Masardis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to contribute in memory of Ola may do so through the family, care of Mary Dionne, P.O. Box 965, Caribou, ME 04736.
