MILFORD and DELAND, Fla. – Opal M. (Bailey) Jellison of Milford and Deland, Fla. passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Deland Florida Hospital. She was born March 17, 1927, in Bancroft, the daughter of Hale and Phyllis Bailey. Opal attended schools in Bancroft and Danforth graduating in 1946. She also graduated from beautician school. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Old Town and Deland, Fla. and remained faithful throughout her life. Opal and her husband, known as Milo T. and Dixie Lee, entertained country music lovers throughout Maine, appearing on television with many well-known performers, Opal enjoyed music, art and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family. Survivors include, Alona Spinney and her husband, John, of Lincoln, Marilyn Dow and her husband, Rodger, of Danforth, Perry Austin and his wife, Mary, of Alexander, Leslie Jellison of Ocala, Fla., Richard and his wife, Karen, of Milford, Lisa Brothers and her husband, Raymon, of Deland, Fla. and Celia Jellison of Lubec; brother, Carl Bailey and his wife, Mary, of Kenduskeag, Genie Daily and her husband, Elwin, of Alexander; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a special friend, her daughter’s mother-in-law, Mary Brothers of Deland, Fla. She was predeceased by her husband, Milo Sr.; son, Milo Jr.; three brothers, Benjamin, Roland and Gary Bailey. Opal will be remembered for the love she gave her family through her gentleness and kindness she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Fish and Game Club, Bancroft Road, Wytopitlock.
