DILLSBURG, Pa. – Pamela Gordon Carr, 55, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, surrounded by her family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Pamela was born June 9, 1951, in Portland, to Clarence and Mary Jane Gordon. She received her undergraduate degree in elementary education and her master’s of education, both from Plymouth State College. On May 16, 1975, she was united in marriage to Malcom F. Carr Jr. in Claremont, N.H. Pamela was a 25-year volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America and holder of the National Silver Beaver Recognition Award. Most recently, she served as director of Lay Ministries at Calvary United Methodist Church, Dillsburg, Pa. Pamela is survived by her husband of 32 years, Malcolm “Jack” F. Carr; her three sons, Eugene Gordon and his wife, Nancy, Malcolm Frederick and Benjamin Joseph; her parents, Clarence and Mary Jane Gordon of Loudon, N.H.; three sisters, Kathleen Gardner, Jessie Rae Wentworth and Emily Jane Wells; 11 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Clarence Eugene Gordon Jr. A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 203 Mumper Lane, Dillsburg, Pa. Visitation with the family will be held 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. A lunch and reception will be immediately after.
