PRESQUE ISLE – Patricia Burke Adams Turner, 66, wife of Paul Turner, died at her residence on Nov. 15, 2003, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Chapman, the daughter of Mildred and Raleigh Adams. Patty, as she was known to family and friends, will be greatly missed. She was a great mother to her five spirited children. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and Past Chief clubs of Mapleton. Patty graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1995, fulfilling a lifelong dream of continuing her education. She loved to read and knew the value of a good book. Patty traveled extensively and lived in several different countries, making many lifelong friends. She returned to northern Maine in 1994. She helped build a camp on the Tobique River and enjoyed the outdoors there with family and friends. Patty is survived by her loving husband, Paul Turner; three daughters, Susan Des Roches, Jeannie Jerome, and Terri Kinney; two sons, Stephen and James Turner. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at the Duncan-Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Southside Cemetery in Mapleton immediately following the service.
